they can put out as much as 2A3s and fell into disfavor because of socket supply issues

Tube One's gain was quite a bit lower and still should be useful if your amp has a balance control

There were no shorts or gas. It measured 58 50 where minimum (65%) is 40 40 and 100% is 62 62. It has a bottom, D getter and a 4 09 188 5 date provenance code.
